Creo View printing black page

Hi Everyone,

I'm having problems with some of our stations (mostly laptops with onboard intel graphics) which are working with Creo View 2.0. The program is able to open and view models and drawings but when the user selects print the image prints as a solid black page. This is repeatable accross all printers and even print to PDF converters. Has anyone seen this before and is there a known fix?

Thanks

Dave

Dave,

On the problem laptop, set the environment variable PV_OFF_SCREEN_SIZE_LIMIT to the value 2048. This should fix the problem and let you print the drawings.

Brian,

I am having a similar issue only it won't print at all. I updated the driver for the Intel graphics but where do you set the environment variable? It says to do it in the Creo View runtime environment. Where is this located?

Thanks,

Bill

Bill,

Setting an environment variable in Windows is fairly simple. This article does a good job of explaining the steps. You can add this to either the "user variables" or the "system variables", but I recommend the "system variables".

A key point that I failed to mention above is that you'll need to close and re-open Creo View after setting the variable.

Thank you, works perfect !

I have users with new computers. Printing worked fine on thier old computers- printing no longer works on the new hardware.

On the desktop hp printers the document is a quick blip and does not spool. On the large workhorse printer copier the pages come out black-as do pages printed to pdf.

I ahve set the varable as described with no success, i still get black pages.

All suggestions and or fixes are welocomed.

Thanks

If you have tried the solution with PV_OFF_SCREEN_SIZE_LIMIT and it does not work, then this is probably something else. Thre is some more information on the PTC web site in article CS94057 - maybe this helps:

I have discovered that the intel driver on some computers is the problem.

If you have onboard graphics using the intel driver, disabling the driver will resolve the issue, you will NOT need to set the limit variable.

That's good to hear! Not another issue with the same symptoms, but the known effect documented in CS94057.

Thank you for the confirmation!
