Been awhile on this one....... I have an old family table part and a new family table part (Creo 2) Anybody care to enlighten me to what the Common name column is?
This is an old part opened in family table.......
This is an new part opened in family table......... It's populating the Common Name field. What's it's purpose?

It's an attribute for PDMLink or Intralink that lets a part be found more easily. For example all hex nut parts could have the common name Hex Nut. Usually it just defaults to something like the part/filename.
