How to hide features in parts

Hello everybody

absolute beginner here so please bear with me. Creo 7.

I'd like to use the show and Hide icons to hide extruded features from my view. But the only thing which is being hidden is the axis of the extrusion - what am I doing wrong?
If I go to Layers, I find the extrudes as children of the PRT_ALL_AXES (?!) the reason why I cannot understand.

What am I doing wrong and how can I achieve this seemingly basic activity?

Please point me in the right direction.

I watched this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QHUpWjIW7Yg but when I try it it does not work.
Thanks 🙂

Historically you can not hide a solid feature from display. I say historically because things may be a bit different with multi-body modeling in Creo 7 and I have not tested it. You do not mention using multi body in this model so I will assume all solid geometry is in BODY 1.

You can hide the solid geometry of the part by including it in a layer and the display can be hidden by using the layer. You select all solid geometry for inclusion in the layer. You can not hide the display of an individual feature geometry that is solid geometry.

You can temporarily change the extruded features to surface geometry and then you can hide the feature display and then convert them back to solid when needed. This could be a workaround. The other option is to suppress those features if it enables you to work on the model and then resume them when needed.

If you are using multiple bodies then elaborate on the model or post it for review. If it is educational license note that most here will not be able to open the file.
