How to move multiple parts in an assembly

Hello,

In Proe WF 5.0, is there a simple way to move multiple parts simultaneously? For example, can mulitple parts be grouped and then collectively be repositioned against some plane in the assembly, rather than one-by-one?

Many thanks.

Hello,

you can make them belonging to the same part "A", thus moving this part "A" will also move the others.

OR you can add relations between locating dimensions of all these parts

OR you can hold "CTRL" and click all the parts to be moved and then rigt-click->EDIT

HI,

How would I make then the same part in an assembly, group them?

For whatever reason, selecting the parts from the model tree and selecting edit woudl not allow me the freedom to move the parts along a plane.

Solution : 1.Create a sub-assembly of all the part you need to move.

Solution : 2.Assemble different parts related to one main part like housing part containing all the hardware. If you move housing hardware will move.

Solution : 3. Re-structuring the parts.

-Hope any one of the method will work for you.

Chander

Do you want to drag them with your mouse?

If yes, you need to assemble them with mecanism constraints or, at least, leave some degrees of freedom and use View->Orientation->Drag Components.
