IE8 compatibility mode

All -

We are currently running PDMLink v9.1 M020 and Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 4.0 M130. Our machines are XP. 50/50 split of 32-bit and 64-bit workstations.

Has anyone run into problems with PDMLink or Pro/E and Internet Explorer's "compatibility mode"? This compatibility mode makes IE8 'act like' IE7, and renders web pages the same way that IE7 used to do.

So far we've done some testing and found that IE8 in compatibility mode is about 30% slower than IE7. Are we alone is this?

What problems have your companies found with IE8? What resolutions have you found? I will post a summary.

Hi,
We have experienced IE8 would freeze now and then while loading Windchill
pages and stay dimmed until the user hits Refresh.
PTC Tech Support suggested to disable all Add-On's not coming from
Microsoft and it seems to have removed the problem. Not very specific. We
have kept Add-On's for Java and Adobe enabled though.
