Is there a way to turn a 3D scan of a person into an avatar (or anthropometric model) and then import it into Creo in such a way that it can be manipulated to different postures and/or animated like a Creo manikin? Or is there a way to overlay a skin on top of manikin that is created from a 3D scan of a person (so that the person's body measurements can be used)?
I've seen this done in Blender, but not Creo.
Thanks for your reply.
I'm designing an orthotic device and am hoping there's a way that I can model and assemble parts that conform to the shape of a person's body, with that shape being obtained from a 3D scan. If only there was a way that such a model taken from Blender could be used in Creo.
PTC does offer Reverse Engineering Extension for dealing with point-cloud data, but it doesn't look like it easily results in poseable models. The video they have is almost 8 years old, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejJ4VnKhn64 (turn down the sound before playing it) The sales page is https://www.ptc.com/en/products/cad/industrial-design/reverse-engineering
I wish I could help more, but I don't see a widespread use like this, leading me to believe that many people are creating in-house custom workflows from various programs, most likely programs like Blender, Rhino, and Spaceclaim or using specialize software.

Thanks for the heads-up. The REX looks like something I may be able to use for other work. And it may be feasible to parameterize the body parts from scans and assemble them into a model.
That makes sense as to why there don't seem to be any dedicated solutions. I was able to speak to someone who does game development and he informed me that there's a way to add a skeleton structure to a scan and somehow import it into parametric CAD so it can be manipulated. I will give that a try and, if it doesn't work, I will try the REX or look for another solution. Thanks so much for your help.
