Is it possible to create a parameter which will prompt for user input?

Pro Gurus:

We have a drawing format with Copyright "XXXX" where XXXX is the production
release year of the drawing. How can you create a parameter such that it
will prompt for the user manual input? I create a "year" parameter in the
model and none of the method below works.

- Create a symbol Copryright &year and insert to the drawing.
- Has the Copyright &year in the format (.fmt).
- Insert a text and open a text file which has Copyright &year.

Any other idea to achieve this is greatly appreciated.

If the parameter does not exist on the part, but exists in the drawing
template, when you create the drawing for the first time, pro-e will
prompt you for all parameters called out in the drawing that do not
exist in the part. These parameters though stay associated with the
drawing, and do not get applied to the part.



We use this for initial drawing revisions.



BTW, we are not using any type of PDM system.

I have used a relation to grab the year from the system and then put it on the drawing in a table.
I used release_year as the parameter and checked if it existed. If not create with the current year. If it did, leave it alone.
We designated the parameter to Windchill, so it would be re-initialized when we created a copy of the file to a new number, but it remained when we did a revision.
