Left-handed screw/thread

Dear PTC Community,

maybe this is trivial, anyway I ask: how to do left-handed threads in PTC Creo Parametric 9.0?

Thank you for your cooperation

Symbolic representation of RH and LH threads would be the same. In your thread callout, just add LH after the thread type.

If you wanted to automate it a little, create a new hole file for the left-hand threads and modify the automated calout information to indicate LH.

When using a helical sweep feature there is an option for left/right hand rule.

Dear @tbraxton,

thank you for your quick support. However, I did not mean to makle a helical sweep for any thread (this would be graphically heavy and would not add any explicit information to the drawing), I just need to automatically define/label a thread as left-handed (so that the purchase dept. may provide the suitable screw/threaded bar).

Best regards

Stefano

It is typically dealt with in the hole callout/note with the suffix "LH". This is a US standard example; it may be different for ISO/EU standards.
