We are implementing the idx process for collaboration between Creo and Allegro. I'm getting some push back from the engineers that they don't want to manually assign the ecad_name (allegro pattern) and ecad_alt_name (part_number). The engineers would like this to be assigned at the model library level but this is not and will not be supported by PTC.
My suggestion to place the patterns on the pcb and import the allegro idx file to do this mapping via the ecad_hint.map file is not acceptable.
Any ideas to work around this?
