Mechanica License

Mechanica License

I have a group of users who have no problems running ProE (WF4). All is well until some in the group attempt to run Mechanica and cannot pull a license.

Open ProE assembly, Applications > Mechanica menu, the Mechanica Model Setup window opens and the FEM Mode box cannot be unchecked - it's greyed out. Selecting OK prompts the message, "Unable to get required Mechanica license."

Others (some sitting right next to each other) have no problem getting a Mechanica license.

ProE & Mechanica are configured on the same license server (same license file!). We've rerun ptcsetup.bat to make sure the Mechanica license is installed & configured correctly. They can obviously connect to the license server because ProE runs w/out a problem - but I'm out of things to check.

Any suggestions?

Make sure the psf file is the same. (it's in the bin folder)

I can't remember if WF4 was before the integrated install, but at one point you had to install Pro E, install Mechanica, then re-run the Pro E installer to point Pro E to the Mechanica loadpoint. If you didn't do this, Mechanica would give a licensing error.

WF4 was the first release with the integrated install.
