I am new with Creo Schematic and I am trying to understand what to expect about the process working with DWG files. I have a huge amount of DWG files created along the years with AutoCAD Electrical and I want to migrated all the files to Creo Schematic.
I have some doubts about how to prepare my DWGs files to start using them in Creo Schematic, what can I reuse, like blocks and their properties...
Also to know if is possible to export CREO Schematic files into DWG and how the AutoCAD users will see their files after the Creo Schematic manipulation, for example if the electrical components could be recognized as blocks or only like lines and polylines, what kind of information could be loss during the migration process
I will appreciate very much your feedback
Hi,
When you import DWG file to Creo Schematics (or Export from creo schematics), the file include only graphical representation without any logical data. That mean : parameters, connectivity info and co-shapes relations will be lost as well.
In additon, there is probability that creo schematic will not support some graphical representation as AutoCaD ( for example, Creo schematics does not support fill of shapes-shape will be imported empty or with cross-hatch )
Regards,
