When creating piping that mounts to a tank, there is a gap as the pipe end surface is aligned with coordinate system axis and/or the datum point (See attached picture). The piping is unable to match the radius of the tank. This gap causes the need create an extruded pipe feature and mount via constraints. Could a prompt be added for the piping to conform to the mounting surface rather than being limited to the coordinate system location?
It is possible to have the datum point or coordinate system located below the surface of the tank so that a gap will not be present ( the solution that I am employing currently to facilitate the ease and velocity of the piping extension), but it is an incorrect representation of the model as when a section view is created the pipe is shown as projecting into the tank.
