Query regarding selection of calculation model

Hello ,

We have to calculate MTBF for an product (wifi end point) with wifi,USB and this product is used for commercial applications. .We did some analysis, we have imported 2 components( 1 resistor and 1 capacitor) from our BOM and calculated MTBF with Telecordia Issue-1 , Telecordia Issue-2 and PRISM and found variations in MTBF outcome. I have attached the summary sheet and detailed calculation result for your reference. Please provide if you have any user guide which gives detailed explanations about various models suitable to our product. In the user manual it has been mentioned that "if you are in the telecommunications industry, you are likely to use a Telcordia, PRISM, HRD5, IEC TR 62380, or RDF 2000 model", but the tool does not show HRD5, IEC TR 62380, or RDF 2000 models in the calculation model drop down list.

Please suggest suitable calculation model for our product.

Regards ,

Dhanasekar,

the dropdown list shows only those standards (calculation models) you have licensed.

Choice of standard in general: This is rather a matter of conveniency, industrial habits, politics, etc. than technical sense.

I you are not sure, ask your customer, or use the same standard your competitors do.
