Hi all
One of our sites would like to be able to create Reference BOM Balloons that do not include the quantity value when attached to a component that has been assembled multiple times.
For referencing the repeat region they currently use a customised 'with quantity'balloon which has the text for the quantity so small that it is impossible to read. However, when adding a reference balloon ProE defaults to using a balloon in which the quantitytext is visible and it is separated from the index number by way of a horizontal line...they would like to get rid of the horizontal line and quantity text to just leave the index number in the balloon.
I have tried editing the system balloon ProE uses but it doesn't allow modifications to be saved. I have also tried creating a new BOM balloon and giving it the same name as the system balloon but that doesn't appear to work either.
Anybody got any suggestions?
We are using Wildfire 4.0 m220
Thank you
Neal
You actually don't need to create special balloon to place many balloons for the same item in the repeat region. You don't even need to create separate index column.
To place manyballoons, e.g. on different detail views, for the same item in the BOM, you need to change the type of repeat region to Custom (by default it is set to simple) and then Retrieve the balloon symbol from the symbol library. When there's no balloon symbol in the library, open Simple balloon symbol and save it to the disk.
Procedure:
BOM Balloons menu > Change Type > [select repeat region] > Retrieve > [select BOM balloon symbol from the library] > Done/Return
To add additional balloons for the same item, split them.
