STEP from Pro/E WF3 to Solidworks

We have a customer who is having problems opening STEP files from Pro/E WF3 M210 in Solidworks. Are there any settings I should be looking at here? We have step format set to:

step_export_format AP214_CD

They were able to open STEP files from us when we were on WF2. Here is a sample of the errors they are getting:

OR one of its fields.

STEP-in did not complete successfully.

Any way to tell if this is their end or ours?

We have been getting these same errors too.

We are also getting a
large number of artifacts and lost surfaces when exporting a STEP from WF3
and then importing the same STEP into ProE WF3.

I am glad to know it's
not just us. I will file a bug report.

Hi Mark,

I have not tried to export STEP's from WF3, but I have been greasing the
STEP to Solidworks skids for a long time.
Make sure you kill all the usual suspects before we decide that WF3 has
lost some functionality.
STEP errors often come from poor import geometry and export errors. I
get them from copy geom's sometimes too.
Try to knock out basic problems first. Open the step file in WF3 and
look for errant surfaces that were used as
copy geom surfaces. Open the offending file, redefine the import
geometry feature, delete the surfaces that you dont
need. After you have blown away all of the errant surfaces, re-export
the STEP file. Open again in Solidworks and
see if you beat it or not. Let me know if that gets you anywhere.
