STEP import/Remove material issue

Hello, I am having an issue with Step Import. When I remove material from a STEP part, the holes remain (see photo). The only items in the model tree are the cutout extrusion that i've just created and the rest of the part is called "import feature id4."

How do I remove the hole outline?hole issue.JPG

Hello Trevor and welcome to the forum.

WF5 should have the import data doctor. You can remove the surfaces for the hole in the data doctor and it should fill itself. I am no expert at the IDD, but people swear by it.

However, your STEP file is likely not being imported as a solid. You want to resolve this before doing additional operations on the part. One way I've seen STEP files healed is to change the precision settings to a higher value. Also remember you have absolute precision if you activate this from the config.pro file.

Long story short, make it solid and then commence modifications. Review the forum for more about IDD.

Thanks,

That did the trick!
