Search for ECAD_REF_DES

Hi all

I'm trying to use the Search Tool to find an ECAD component by the
ECAD_REF_DES parameter, but I can't figure it out. There are other ECAD
parameters I can search on but not ECAD_REF_DES (Search Tool doesn't seem
to know it exists). Anyone know if this is possible and how to set up the
Search Tool to do it?

Also, and I just thought of this but haven't tried it yet, would it be
possible to use ECAD_REF_DES in a table repeat region (to show a BOM with
reference designators included)?

Geez... that was simple. Although not obvious. Didn't think to try that
because it sounds like it should be looking for the model name (which
works also).

That works nicely.you can also add a tree column ECAD_REF_DES.makes it easy
to find everything on a PCB.

Yes, I knew about the tree column for ECAD_REF_DES but if you've got
hundreds or thousands of parts it's a long list to search through by eye.

Got the report region working with &asm.mbr.comp.name (took a hint from
the search tool answer). Makes for a very tall table however because each
component is now unique.
