Shaded Drawing Views

Shaded Drawing Views

WF4 M080

I cannot get shaded drawing views to obey the drawing's layer settings.

I have a layer in my part with a single curve feature that I have
isolated in my part.  All other layers are hidden.  In part and assy
mode, this shows that curve only, exactly what I want.

In the drawing, I have all layers set to hidden.  In normal 'line'
views, the curve is not displayed.  In my iso shaded drawing view, the
curve is displayed.  No drawing views have their own layer settings and
the config option 'ignore_model_layer_settings' is set to yes,
draw_layer_overrides_model' is set to no.

How do I get the shaded view to obey the drawing's layer settings?  I'd
rather not have explicit layer settings for this view if I can help it.

Doug,

I am very interested to hear any solutions to this issue. We have been on WF5
for a year and we are all having these similar problems. I have tried to control
the layers by view to correct this, but no luck. I am not ruling out operator
error, but since everyone in our small group is experiencing this I doubt it. I
also don't recall seeing any responses to your post either. Please post any
resolutions if there are any.

Thanks,

Anyone know if there is a way to show only certain components as shaded in drawing views, while the others stay in normal hidden-line removed display? I know that style states will be ignored in drawing views that are set to combination states, but just wondered if anyone thought of a workaround.

Jim

Last I heard this functionality wasn't available. I had wanted to do that at one time.

In WF4 it is View/Component Display/Style and manually pick the components.
