Sheetmetal

I have a Proe 4.0 student Edition (for educational use only). i'm trying to make a sheetmetal. After I finished creating one big flat sheet, I wanted to create the wall by clicking on "Flat Wall" icon then click on one of the edges of the sheet to creat the wall but the wall and the "green check" don't appear. I don't know what is wrong. is my proe student edition capable of making sheetmetal? Please help out. thanks

If remeber correctly this came up some time ago in the Student Edition forums. The problem was that PTC didn't release the default sheetmetal flange sections with the Student version so when you pick an edge there is no section for the flange. You create a sketch of the flange under the Shape tab. There was also a post by a PTC employee that gave a link to download the sheetmetal sections.

Here is the post that has the link.

Hi Don, The edition is missing the predefined flange sections that are required to view the profiles. Please download the necessary sheetmetal files and place them in the following directory: <Installation directory for Pro/ENGINEER>/text Here is the link to the files - http://www.ptc.com/view?im_dbkey=79325 We will be releasing a new build of the student edition that will include these files. Thanks, Mark
