We used to have an easy option to extract one body from another, but I am at a standstill in Creo 7..0.8.0. I need to solidify (or fill solid with shrinkwrap,) an existing import body. Shrinkwrap leaves the internal cavity. Then I need to extract this body from a fixture to be made to hold it. These are complex castings and not easy stuff like cubes and cylinders in youtube.
I usually use Merge/Inheritance (requires Advanced assembly) to remove the volume of one part model from another.
I also like to copy the outer surface and offset it, if needed for fit. and export the surface when maintaining a reference to the original is not needed.
Is the import body solid geometry in Creo? If so, make sure you set the absolute accuracy to the same value for all parts in your design space as the first step. In Creo 7 you have the option to use multibody Boolean operations to achieve what you need to do as another option. I am not positive, but I don't think any additional extensions on a base Creo license is required for multibody support in part mode.
If you can report back what features are supported by your license in this context then you will get some options in response.
