Spool in Piping

What does the spool icon do in Creo piping? It's in the fabrication section of the ribbon. It seems to always be greyed out. I can't find any information online to explain what the feature does or how to use it.

Spools are used in Creo Cabling not Piping.

Russ

The spool functionality in piping allows you to define a prefabricated part of the piping system that includes the fittings, pipe and flanges which are pre-mounted in the fabrication facility and later transported to the field.

This is only available in spec driven piping (set configuration option) piping_design_method.

The piping spool is different from the cabling spool that kevin referred to

thanks

Jim
