Summary : Removing locked features

Wow, Thanks for all the quick responses. Even my first right answer I had
responded to and said that was not what I was looking for, so sorry.

It was as simple as they were read only features. Which I had used in the
past but, I remember the functionality differently back in the day. Worse
yet is that WF does not indicate anywhere that they are read only features.
Selecting Feature Info you think would tell you somewhere that the feature
was read only, but NOOooo.

So in short go to edit, all the way at the bottom select Read Only, then an
old legacy menu pops up and you then select clean. Now it just cleans
everything not just one item if you wanted but it cleans everything. A nice
enhancement would be to selectively pick features and make them read only,
instead of picking one feature and it makes it and everything in the model
tree before it read only. But hey if you don't use it every day..
