To indicate the base part of the inheritance is out of date

I have an assembly with the 3 parts and one of the part as the External inheritance and if any user makes the changes in the dependent base part and check-in the PDMLink then I need an indication that the part used as inheritance in the assembly is out off date. Even in the case when base part is not available in my local workspace Any idea in this regard will be very helpful to me
