Is there a way to turn off datum displays, but still have an individual one displyed when selected in the model tree? It would be very helpful when determining which plane is selected.

If you hide the datum planes in the feature tree, yes, you can click on the datum in the tree and it will highlight in the graphics window when datum planes are turned on.
