UNABLE TO CREATE ROTATION CONSTRAINTS IN SIMULATE...!

Rotation Constraints are greyed out in Creo 2.0.

I am unable to create rotational constraints for a assembly model which I am working.

Anybody facing this issue?

Hi,

Hope you are creating the mesh using solid elements like tetra, wedge or brick. These does not possess rotation degree of freedom.

For specific requirements, you can have cylindrical/ spherical coordinate based constraints.

Thanks Shiva,

I remember in earlier version (Pro/mechanica) we used to get this option.

Does that mean these rotation constraints had no affect on the boundary conditions?

That's true......Till Wildfire series, one could add/modify rotational degrees of freedom. But even then, they were not considered in the algorithm. So, even if you define there was no effect.

Due to this, these have been greyed out intentionally to avoid ambiguities.
