When I'm creating a revolved feafure, the centerline in the sketch is not the axis of rotation anymore, now we've to specify or create an axis outside the sketch.
Great! more clicking and more wasted time. Who is running PTC? Anyway, Did any body figure out how to go around this yet?
Thanks.
Hi Carlos,
Not sure which version you are on. Try the "use edge" function while in the sketcher to pick the existing axis for your revolve. When you pick it this way it becomes an axis in your sketch.
Hope this helps

Thanks Brent, We're using wildfire 5.0 M060, What you described works if you already have an axis, but what about if you don't have an axis yet, in all previous proe version you just need to sketch an centerline anywhere and exit the sketch and done, the axis will be created automatically where the centerline was sketched. This seems to not be available, now if you don't have an axis previous starting the sketch, you have to create one on the fly or assign one outside the sketch mode, which imply more work.
Thanks,
WF5 has two different types of centerlines in sketch mode. Instead of creating a centerline in the sketch create a geometry centerline. If you have created a centerline in a sketch that you want to be the revolve axis, select it and RMB on the centerline and select Axis of Revolution.
Thanks Kevin, that works.
Start your revolved section with your centerline, tehn while it is highlighted, RMB select Axis of Revolution and you will see it change color as well as change to a centerline line style. Create your profile and complete the command.
