Wildfire 4.0 to 3.0 - Pro-mechanica

Greetings All,

I have Wildfire 4.0 Schools Edition on my home laptop which I am pretty comfortable using.

However I need to do some models which can then be opened up in university to use their Pro Mechanica Package for a Stress/Strain Assignment.

Is there any way I can do this via IGES or STEP files as I will need to be able to add materials and forces etc to models once in pro-mechanica but I have heard a rumor that you cannot do this?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Tom.

I recommend you STEP extension or .x_t Parasolid, they are the best for CAE simulations. I haven´t try that but on academic context shouldn´t be a problem.

Regards

Camilo

To my experience you should not experience any problem when your models are saved as parasolids. try it, do not get held back by rummors. Good luck on your school project.

It might be that your friends were trying to open parasolid models while their pro/e was by default searching or .prt models.

information - moved the thread into the Creo discussions, since it was located in the Creo Elements/Direct Modeling Express. Different Product of PTC.
