Wrong references auto-selected when using Ref-pattern

When using Ref-pattern you can sometimes experience that Creo is using wrong reference for the pattern.

Today there is no way of controlling which references is used for the Ref-pattern. This is needed.

In the example video, Creo is not using the right reference for the Ref-pattern and the outcome is wrong. unfortunately it is not each time that Creo makes a wrong or right guess, so user control is needed.

The work-around supplied from the support team will not work as intended in the future, especially not if we will take advantage of the freedom in Creo 3.0. It will work in Creo 2.0, but you are never sure of when you should use this work-around and when not. The work-around is also quite illogical and is in conflict with Creo's normal way of working.

The Ref-pattern is in need of an enhancement. We need to have the possibility to select which reference to use in the Ref-pattern and not let Creo take a guess.  Letting Creo guess includes too much Mr. Murphy

If instead of creating an axis and then creating the cylinder on top of it, just build the cylinder and then use the axis of the cylinder as a reference.  Then both references are from the same feature and Pro can't get confused.  It's the kiss principle.

Hi Louis

Sorry, but I think you have misunderstood the problem and the enhancement.

We need to make the axis as a separate feature to simulate a top-down design, where the "center" ( the axis ) is from a copy-geometry using a publish feature from a skeleton.

When making the ref-pattern Creo has two reference to choose between, the axis and the top-surface, confirmed by R&D

In this case ( the video ) Creo is making a incorrect choice and we cannot get the the desired result without a illogical work-around.

Creo needs to have a option where we can choose which reference is the correct one to use without any illogical work-around!!!
