convert units without any changes in drawings?

Dear All,

I have a assembly which have 90% of items are in inch-pound system and rest 10% is in metric system.

i have created drawings as well with inch one.

but now management wants it in metric system.

when i changed it to mm-kg system drawing scale down.

Please suggest me the way that everything is in the set way.

Regards,

Manish

I find the easiest way is to open the assembly in Pro/Mechanica. The system prompts you to ask what consistent set of units you want to use. Choose the metric set and it takes care of the modification.

Save it, quit out of Mechanica and you are in business.

I dont have Pro/Mechanica ,please help.

If you don't have Mechanica, you will have to do them one at a time. There is no other method of making global units changes that is part of Pro/E or Creo, unless it's within Model Check, which I haven't used.

I would use AutoIt to create a script and leverage the use of mapkeys to create a program that would go through them all after hours. Alternative automation creation tools are the VB API, J-link, and Weblink.

The easist is to beg for a 30 day Mechanica trial to change the parts that need changing now and change the process so models are built with the correct units.

You can try changing the drawing units to mm.

drawing_units mm in the drawing config.
