how to hide submodel entities such as datums, points...etc in an assembly mode with out having to check out those submodels?

Hello,

I am having a huge problem, I have an assembly made of many sub models that most of their entities (datum, points, axis...etc) are not put on layers.

Is there a way to hide all of those entities in the assembly mode without checking out the sub models? I only own the top level assembly but the sub models are owned by some other people.

thank you for your time.

Hi!  I think for your problem, this thread seems relevant:

Layer rules for ASM w/o changing the submodels

Essentially, I don't think you can do what you want to do.

The config.pro option

save_display_status_in_submodel set to no will only allow you to control the visibility of layers of the sub-components at the assembly level.

Paul,

yep I used that and it solved 50% of my problems with this assembly, I agree with you I do not think there is a solution for this issue.

thank you for your reply.
