Hello,
I have the outside surface profile of my assembly defined. I want to form
the outer shape of the next sub-assembly to be the same shape, but 50mm
offset (smaller).
I thought it would be easy, import the outer surface shape, offset a surface
50mm from it, then...
I have tried thickening (remember, this is in an assembly, so I figured I
can only remove material with an assembly feature);
I have tried sketching a loop at each end of the two surfaces and making a
swept blend;
I have tried the same, but with a VSS instead of the swept blend;
I have tried Insert, advanced, blend between durfaces, cut;
I have tried everything I can think of, except whittling it with a penknife.
Every time, it romps through the process until the little box reads
'regeneration complete' then sits there smugly until Pro/E gets a memory
error and crashes.
Note that the parts that the cut should intersect are all at the same
assembly level as the cut.
WF2, M220
Anything else I should try?
Thanks,
