Hi -- I have been using the attached method to dynamically balance a rotating assembly. Referring to the attached JPEG, I start with a grounded pedestal (shown in red) and make a 6DOF connection with a stationary block (shown in green). I then rotate the gray shaft and attached parts with a servomotor. I have set-up a measurement for moments and forces about the 6DOF connection. I play with the balance weights until those moments and forces are nearly zero. I would appreciate someone approving of this approach. Please be critical, and show me a better way to balance this system. Thanks much.
