I looked for this in the old help and in the help at http://help.ptc.com/creo_hc/creo30_pma_hc/usascii/index.html#page/pma/introduction/about_PTC_creo_help.html Neither place mentions string_length(). But at http://www.mcadcentral.com/creo-drawing/14098-string-functi-ns-proe-relati-ns.html one responder has string_length in a list extracted from some version of Help file.
As in the title - is string_length() still a valid relation function? Looking for WF5, Creo, Creo 2, and Creo 3 validation.
Solved! Go to Solution.
To get to the page with the information on it, I manually navigated down to where I knew it was.
Pick the question mark in the corner:
This takes me to the help center (on PTC's website)
http://help.ptc.com/creo_hc/creo30_pma_hc/usascii/home.html
From there drill down to the topic:
It is in the list of functions, yes.
Yes, still there. From Creo 3.0 F000 Help:
Of course the newfangled help isn't smart enough to find it.
Help needs help! Anyone figure out why the new help files are only half the size of the previous versions?
How did you get to that page, Tom?

Thanks Tom,
Not only isn't it where it should be, in the string functions section, and help doesn't find it, it's in an application section that's just wrong - where are the arguments being passed -to-? There isn't any argument passing in relations. It's all one big piece with only global variables and no user defined functions. String_length -used- to be in the string functions section, based on the previous link, so someone took the trouble to break it on purpose.
Is that because it is a Creo Parametric Help Center and not Creo?
Initially I just had Creo 3 installed, but not the help center. After installing the help center locally (and then using it), the search actually works correctly:
As far as what section, it's the same in WF5 (CEP/5):
