Hi @SweetPeasHub @skunks . Thanks for the explanation in this topic attached. For a guy wire in tension, I have defined a beam element using a series of points just as you have showed but the issue that I am facing is these tiny elements of the beams do not seem to be in contact for some reason and the prestress analysis for wires in tension fails. I had defined a rigid link between all these points that make up the beam. Is there any better / correct approach to constrain these tiny beam elements to stay connected? Please guide.
One thing I can think of that might be disconnecting each beam segment is if the beam releases at the ends also follow the point pattern and are releasing at each segment. If this is the case, you may need a short individual beam at each end then the pattern of point beams in between. Another way this could seem released is if the beam material and section properties are unrealistically weak or heavy, like if they were in the wrong units.
