HTML Output with Search Option

HTML Output with Search Option

We are utilizing the out of the box DocBook (Arbortext XML DocBook V4.0) stylesheet with a few modifications to the stylesheet.

We are publishing utilizing the "For Web" option which works great. However, we would like to add a Search option within the HTML output.

Can someone guide me on how to add that? or is there a stylesheet developers guide that has instructions how to add it?

Thank you in advance.

Sarah

We used to use Arbortext Digital Media Publisher (DMP) for that. The problem with a search button is it needs to be linked to an index, which is typically stored on the server side of a web application. Arbortext DMP provided a Tomcat application with search index. How are you hosting the HTML output?

Just on an Apache WebServer.

I have included an index in the XML file also however in the 'For Web' output the index doesn't even who up. That at least would be helpful and could be utilized as a potential alternative.

Got it. In that scenario we used to implement Apache Lucene (https://www.developer.com/java/data/full-text-search-apache-lucene/) but that is the sort of thing that needs a software developer.

BTW, the Arbortext product for doing that was called Arbortext DMP and PTC used to use it for the Arbortext Help Center up to 6.1 (https://support.ptc.com/cs/help/arbortext_hc/ae61_hc/). Later versions (https://support.ptc.com/help/arbortext/r8.1.2.0/en/) appear to be using ePublisher instead (https://www.webworks.com/Products/ePublisher/).
