Is there a way to change the default display scale for the Print Preview window??

Hi Sarah-



Yes, you can set this up in your pubview.cf file. To customize it, make
a copy in the /lib subdirectory of your APTCUSTOM directory, then change
the magbase setting.



You can read up on the options for customizing the Print Preview window
by looking up "help 8015" in the online help.

Thanks for the info. I actually had tried to adjust that setting yesterday changing it from 1000 to 500. It didn't make a different in the display scale. I would like it set at 100% instead of 120%. When we upgraded to 5.3 the default changed.

Hmm. I just tested this, and you're right, it's completely ignored. I
even tried modifying the original copy of pubview.cf, but that didn't
work either.



I think this is a bug. I filed a CR with PTC (#7184238), will let you
know when I hear something from them.

Apparently this is a known issue that's been around for a while. It was
initially logged in August of 2007. There's an SPR for it, but no target
date for a fix indicated.



If you want to look it up, it's SPR 1424090.

I tried testing this in version 5.4. Magbase doesn't seem to matter in
version 5.4 either, I guess it's lucky I can use the 120% view, but it
is not good when I have to use a small screen like a laptop. I can make
the preview window smaller by dinking with the "preview" window setting
in the preference file, but then I still have to manually change the
scale form 120% dow to 100 (or lower).

I think it is a newly induced bug, because I remember that this used to
work.

In order to support the use case of quickly adapting the preview page to the available window size there are a couple of keyboard shortcuts: s (shrink) and m (magnify) which will adapt the preview page size in increments of +- 20%
