Opening multiple files without file managment program - just "File" "Open"

Is it possible from the "File" Open" command to open multiple files?

If you type in "ABCDE*" and 8 files are shown and you want to open two of them together. Can you pick two and open both of them? Or just sequentially?

Nope, but there is a product idea for this.
