Creating template for wiring diagram

My company is starting to use the wiring side of Creo and to stream line things in the future is it possible to make a template for the harness drawings?

I'd like to have the bottom right corner to look similar to how a solid part drawing would look and have tables ready to put the BOM.

Is this something that is possible or worth it to save time?

It is possible and yes, it is worth it. You must have the appropriate license to access the full functionality. Drawing templates can save many man hours each year if you produce drawings often.

With Creo Harness Manufacturing (HMX), you can automatically create a manufacturing drawing for a 3D harness with little manual intervention. You can also specify a drawing border format for the drawing.

Thanks for the reply. do you know of any good videos that explain how to do it? Also we are looking to make a wiring harness that can pretty easily spit out a BOM. With regards to the terminals how would you suggest going about it? I have thought of putting them in the CAD model but that seems a little to time consuming. Other wise I would route the wires to the connector and then in the BOM specify the terminal for each connector which also sounds time consuming. Not sure if there is a way to assign a number (companies part number for associated terminal) to a connector that is in the harness?

I am not a routed system subject matter expert. Our resident expert uses the spec driven paradigm (not manual) for routed systems (piping/cabling). This requires a lot of setup and customization of your Creo environment before use but will pay for itself very quickly if it is something used frequently by your team or company. When set up with some thought it provides a lot of automation of the design/routing process. One of the inputs to this is the 2D schematics from the EE team to define netlists, terminals, refdes, etc. in Creo.

I am not aware of any video tutorials for spec drive routed systems setup or use. I would ask your VAR that sold you the license for some info.

Take a look at this PDF for some high level insight into what can be done.
