Drawing Dimensions for the Drawing Views

Hi People,

I am working on the creation of dimensions for the Views in the drawing. For that we tried to collect the edges of the solid. Will these edges help me create a dimensions for the view?

Is my approach correct? If it is correct, how to filter the edges which are visible on the drawing screen?

Please suggest the correct and quick approach to achieve drawing dimensioning through code (toolKit C++)...
