Wildfire 4 VB api - do you need tool kit or is it included with Wildfire 4 & student edtition?

I believe the VB API is included in the standard edition. Not sure about
the Student/Personal edition.

You will find the documentation (VB API APIWizard) in <installation <br="/>directory>\ProENGINEER\vbapi\vbapidoc\index.html

Bjarne

[proecus] - Wildfire 4 VB api - do you need tool kit or is it included

Good Day All,

Do you need pro/toolkit or is the VB Api included in Wildfire 4 standard
edition?
Also was it included in the Student edition or Personal edition?

I'm trying to find the location of the files after Wildfire is installed.
Also where are the help files located to see what commands are available
for the vb api?

The VB api does not appear to be installed on my work machine M040 or my
personal edition M020 at home.

Any help you can provide would be appreciated.
Thanks
Don A

Bjarne,

Both my install at work and at homeappear to bemissing the VB API files.
The install directory <installation directory=">\ProENGINEER\vbapi\> does not exist.

Any Ideas where I can find these files?
I have the weblink and Jlink files but not the vbapi files

Thanks
Don A

The VB API is an installation option. Re-run ptcsetup.bat and make sure
you select the VB API to be installed.

Hello Don

The VB API is included in the Wildfire 4 standard edition, but according to PTC there are problems using the VB API in Builds M030 and M040 (see SPR 1619234) and it only works correctly starting with Build M050.

To install the VB ABI you have to select the feature "Visual Basic API" located under API Toolkits during the installation of Pro/Engineer.

The VB API files are installed under the directory <proe_install_dir>\engineer\vbapi.

Kind Regards

David Rodriguez

Found what I was looking for.
The option was not selected when the install took place.

Thanks for everyone's help
