Hi all,
I am trying to communicate ThingWorx Foundation (Hosted Trial for 90 days) with the ThingWorx Industrial Connectivity.
I am using the guide: https://developer.thingworx.com/en/resources/guides/model-allen-bradley-plc
In the step 3 the field "host" in the image below show me the link "pp-18011714014o.devportal.ptc.io" and my question is:
Where I find my link to fill this field?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hello @einsfele,
the "host" field needs to have your TWX Server host URL to let KEPServerEX know where it can find ThingWorx.
My guess is that the one showed in the image is just an example and it will vary on each usecase. As stated in the step 6:
"In the Host field, enter the IP address of your ThingWorx Foundation server."
If you have access to our KCS, we also have this Article available. It might help you in addition to the guide you are using:

I hope this information helps!
Thanks!
Vanessa

Hi @visla
Thank you for your answer!
When I to run the hosped server (30 days) it show me the host name (image below):
Must I to use that address to communicate the server? Remembering that I wanna use the Hosted Trial for 90 days.
Regards!
Leonardo
Hello @einsfele,
provided screenshot provides the hostname for your 30 Days trial. If you would like to link your KEPServerX to that 30 Days trial, my understanding is that you should try that URL.
However, you mentioned that you would like to use your 90 Days trial. Then you need to figure out the hostname for your 90 Days trial. What is the URL that you use to login to ThingWorx Composer for the 90 Days trial?
According to the comment in the screenshot "grab one of the Trial Edition installs from the downloads page and use it locally for 90 days to build a proof of concept". Have you installed the 90 Days trial TWX Server locally? If yes, then you need to find out the hostname of the machine where you have installed it.
I hope this helps!
Thanks!
Vanessa
Hi @visla
One more time, thank you for your answer and yes, I want to use the version for 90 days trial.
Answering your questions:
What is the URL that you use to login to ThingWorx Composer for the 90 Days trial?
To access I am using the URL: http://localhost:8080/Thingworx
Have you installed the 90 Days trial TWX Server locally?
Yes, I have installed the Server locally.
I found the hostname of the machine and I have configured it in the ThingWorx Industrial Connectivity, but I do not had success.
Follow the image below:
Have you other suggestion to me?
Regards,
Leonardo.
Hello @einsfele,
thanks for details!
What do you mean with "I didn't have success"? Are you getting any error?
Things you can try:
- From the machine where KEPServerEX is installed, open a browser and try to login to ThingWorx Composer using "http://nb0770:8080/Thingworx --> does it work? Suggesting this to test if the Kepware machine can reach the TWX machine using that hostname
- As you are using non-secure connection (HTTP via port 8080), you need to change "Disable Encryption" to be "Yes":
In the Disable encryption field, select No from the drop-down if you are using a secure port. Select Yes if you are using an http port
- Have you created an Application Key in ThingWorx? Have you copy-and-pasted the AppKey value in the field? Please don't provide the value here, due to security reasons. I just want to make sure you have done those actions, I don't need to know the AppKey value.
- As you are using a non-secure connection, I would also try to change "Trust self-signed certificates" and "Trust all certificates" to NO
Does all the above help?
Thanks!
Vanessa
Hi @visla
I was able to configure with success.
Instead of the hostname I putted my IP address, as you said previously, and it worked!
Thank you a lot for help me!! :)

Leonardo
Oh, it seems we posted our comments at the same time! :)
Glad it worked!
