Mathcad 11 (form the late 1990's)

Dear PTC Community,

I have Mathcad-11 from the 1990's, & I need to reinstall it after a HDD failure. However, PTC (Mathsoft) doesn't run their license server anymore & therefore, the product cannot be activated.

Can someone please assist ?

Hello @Zordan,

Thank you for engaging with the PTC community!

In the meantime, while awaiting responses from other community members or experts, I recommend checking out this post. Please take a look and see if it helps you.

Also, we have some useful resources in this post too.

Best Regards,
Vivek N

Thanks Vivek, I sincerely appreciate you bringing this to me attention. Unfortunately, it does not fit my problem. I either need the license server to be reactivated, or I need someone at PTC to provide me with an Activation Key. Do you know any direct point of contact within PTC whom I may approach for the information I require ?

Quite frankly, if I can't get assistance, this tells the public not to pay thousands of dollars for a Mathcad License because one day your ability to use it will be taken from you, & a great deal of money will have been stolen from you; from my perspective, deactivating the license server is equivalent to theft.

Ah, too bad. Another Mathcad 11 lost.

Success!

Hi @Zordan

I'm sorry for your bad experience. I'm afraid we won't be in a position to help.

For context, Mathcad 11 was initially released 23 years ago in 2002.

10 years ago, on April 1st, 2015, Mathcad 11, 12 and 13 officially went off support. That end of support included ending the ability to get replacement licenses. This was communicated to customers on the Community in September 2014. It contains an announcement as a PDF attachment,

Again, it will not solve your problem, but only offers an explanation...

Many thanks for that, now I know. Oh well, lesson learned --> Never buy PTC products, you'll eventually lose your money.

Communicating a loss of licence via a community website & not directly through buyer contact, isn't very professional. The community didn't buy M11, I did .... To be fair, I should get my money back because I was sold a product I cannot use now. Well, going forward, I won't recommend PTC products.

Anyway, thanks for your help; it is infinitely appreciated.
