Hi everybody, my name is Marcello and I am absolutely new with MathCad.
I succeded in solving a symbolic equation, now I want to know how to solve a symbolic system of 2 equations in x,y like the following:
x^2+y^2=r^2
y=mx+q
thanks in advance for your help
Solved! Go to Solution.
Like so:

Yes, it's exactly what I want to do!
How can I do the parentesis? Sorry for being a totally newbie...
Great!!! I succeded!!! Thanx a lot!
How can I do the parenthesis? Cannot see the reply.

I believe the "parenthesis" is actually an array (insert matrix)

?? Not sure what exactly you mean and what you can't see.
In Prime you may simply type an opening square bracket [ and Prime will create a matrix. You can enlarge it vertically by pressing Shift Enter and horizontally by pressing Shift Space.
Thanks, thread contains question about adding parenthesis. Can see a thanks to the reply but no reply itself. Did not realise it was a matrix. All working now, thanks guys for your help.
One more question...when the system is solved I obviously get 2 results, how can I do to take one (the positive) result and to put into a graph?
In other worìds I want to put in a graph how x varies in relation to m and by expressing m=tan(α) how x and y change in relation to α.
Do you mean something like this (obviously, I've made up the numbers):
Alan
Yes, Alan you are great!
