This is my first attempt at sharing one of my personal creations. I originally made this file more than twelve years ago, and I'm still using it from time to time.
This base plate design was based on ASD 9th Edition, with additional requirement from authors that I mentioned in the file itself. The beauty of Mathcad in this file was highlighted in solving a cubical equation which one would normally encounter when one is considering eccentric loading condition. At the time when I originally created the file, Mathcad had a feature called "SMART Math", if I remember it right. It was the one with the icon of a "graduation hat". I used that to simplify the cubical equation. I believe the file still works fine, even in the current version of Mathcad. But if anyone finds otherwise, please let me know. Thanks!
