"bisection, PWL ... " have same meaning depending the interpretation and the end use. You can see some in the revised augmented version. BTW, this web allows the originator to remove his own original work sheet "Edit"... edit text, remove/replace work sheet. Quite a nice feature from this web community, it will help avoiding dozens of work sheets in the course of a collaboration and get the final version... nice to keep the Mathcad work sheets data base clean as long as the originator is a serious collab.
A single universal bisection module ? It might become cumbersome and of no tutorial and traceable value. The idea of compacting all project types in one style is a big mistake for efficiency. Direct and visible steps is what makes Mathcad work, and tutor Mathcad by same token. Your big long module [if you want to design one] might work for the work sheet, next project ... fails, all red !
