Is it possible to use function definitions and/or graphs to drive datum curves from equation in Creo Parameteric 4.0+?
Conceptually I would like to use graphs (functions) to define a curve from equation inside Creo. In Mathcad the function and domain would be defined and the results passed to Creo to drive a curve from equation. It would be nice to switch domains (i.e. time to frequency for example) or to shift between cartesian and polar reference systems in Mathcad and then pass the function values over to Creo.
Hi,
as far as I know, you can only transfer parameter values between Creo Parametric and Mathcad Prime.
Maybe you can find some information in Creo Help, see https://support.ptc.com/help/creo/creo_pma/r6.0/usascii/index.html#page/fundamentals/fundamentals/fund_mathcad_intg/About_Embedded_Mathcad_Worksheets_Parametric_Models.html
That is what I gathered from looking at the on line documentation. Sharing strings and numbers between Mathcad and Creo is nice but is so rudimentary. It would be much more useful to pass functions, graphs, and other data sets between the two. The integration upon cursory inspection is only marginally better than using a spreadsheet and passing values. The Mathcad front end is nicer and more sophisticated. It just seems underwhelming in terms of controlling models with Mathcad data.
Creo is overdue for more advanced (spohisticated and user friendly) tools to create graphs/functions used to drive features.
