Electrical Engineering Challenge #6

Hi,

This is a modified variant of this circuit from this topic.
As I am interested why odesolve block cannot solve such a kind of circuit or why we cannot use odesolve block here... let's see if someone will come with an answer by solving this problem using odesolve block.

Find the current through C1, voltage across L1 and voltage across R3. Analysis must be done using odesolve block.

a) Vs(t) = 10V

For ac voltage.

This case, for DC pluse, make switch on of DC 10 V circuit and solve it.

Find t=1 s data for iL1 an vC1.

Use above values for switch off circuit.

Find t=1 s data for iL1 and vC1, that is t=2 s value of original circuit.

Then continue the sequence above switch on and off.

In the second switch on, not only DC 10 V but also iL1(2) and vC1(2) must add the sources vector, E(s).

Z(s) is same for all 4 times calculation.

Finally, make augmented data and you get the result.

Your condition of this circuit means tau of L/R is

and tau of CR is

So the digits difference are 217100-1, this is larger than 304 digits for mathcad.

So numerical engin can't solve is quit reasonable.
