Always wise to post in lower versions (typical 11 or lower).
There is a much larger and skilled audience below 14 version.

You have a couple of problems. ONe is that you didn't define a guess value for the solver. The other is a numeric round-off problem.

This work sheet is under construction. It is expected to be around 50 pages. Here is a very minute fraction of the skill and difficulties to use the solver Given/Find. What I'm pointing to is the image ... lot of times you will have a plot but no export ! In previous versions of Mathcad, the examples from the qs hardly hinted the power and versatility of this solver.

Hope it does not turn red in your version.
The scripted component is the slider.

Audrey, convert the equation into
a cubic polynomial, then simply
use polyroot to find all the
roots. The solution is the maximum
of the roots-vector as shown in
my solution.

Totally incorrect, Julio !

... here is the work sheet.

The solution of your problem is that
of root-finding. Therefore,any attempt
to solve it any other way other than
plotting the function crossing the
x-axis is less than ideal.

Setting TOL 15 will be no different than any other method because they are all internally based on root.

The complete project and plot.
