Hello, Everyone.
Thanks in advance for your time and help.
Regards.
I'm going to say yes its a real number, and good luck with that equation.
Which equation?
According to Mathcad its a real number, just use Im(....) - it simplifies to 0.
We have new operators and built-in symbols in Mathcad Prine:
And a related query : ( and need help with an explanation )
Thanks in advance for your time and help.

1) Mathcad isn't perfect 😉
2) Maybe you should type 1i instead of just i if you want i be the imaginary unit
No problem. The simplification should work with any constant in place of i, but Mathcad's symbolics is obviously better in simplifying the difference than doing it with the equation. So the conclusion is: If you want to know if two expressions are the same, its better to simpliffy their difference than to evaluate the appropriate equation.
If you want i to be the imaginary unit you must type 1i, otherwise i is an arbitrary unknown. Thats the reason for the red error which stems from the numeric processor.
But the expressions you sent first are the same, no matter what i is. But Mathcad had difficulties to see that they are equal unless you evaluate the difference of the two. With i as imaginary unit Mathcad did a better job.
