Mathcad 14 Graph "traces" internal error

Hi everybody,

I just finished installing Mathacd 14 on my Windows 10 PC.

Whenever I try to click on the traces tab in the graph property windows it crashes with an internal error.

I tried reinstalling and reparing it but neither worked.

I hope you can help me.

Try right clicking on Mathcad.exe and setting the compatibility mode to Windows XP.

Ok tried that but it still keeps crashing. tough not with the internal error msg. It's just the generic Windows msg. (Mathacad Application has stopped working)

Did you try setting the reduced color mode?

I tried the 8bit and 16bit mode on different compatibility modes as well as just the reduces color modes. still crashes.

Check you have these installed:

Microsoft.NET Framework 2.0

MSXML 4.0 SP2 or later

Microsoft Data Access Components MDAC 2.6 or later

VS2005 SP1 DLLs (usually installed with Microsoft Office) - could be downloaded manually from: Download Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) from Official Microsoft Download Center

I dont know if I have the MDAC it doesen't show up under the installed programs, but the rest is installed.

It won't show up under installed programs. You can check for it in the registry, but I would be surprised if it wasn't there. It's installed with Windows.

If all those are are installed and you have tried all the compatibility settings, them I'm sorry, but I don't know what the problem is. If I think of something else to try I'll post again.

One other suggestion.

Browse to the Mathcad 14 program folder, and run the program "mcregister.exe".

i didn't find the mcregister.exe. the only thing i found similar to that is the "mcmreg.exe" and when i open it, it asks for a "Mathcad User Component" (.mcm) file.

Yes, that's not the same program. It should be there. It's been included since at least version 11. I guess it's a moot point though, since you appear to have found a solution.

What exactly service release of Mathcad 14 are you using?

I downloaded it from Mathcad Downloads‌ the M020 release.

Is there any chance for you to install the latest Mathcad 15 M045 service release? You can find it here: Thank You for Your Interest in PTC Mathcad 15 | PTC

A license for version 14 will not work for version 15

Maybe he uses licensed version for 15 and work in the 14th.

Maybe, but I think it's unlikely

By the way, I remember that in one of the service releases of 15th version also had a problem with tracing graphs - but then the program does not fall, there was simply no response when clicking on "Trace".

Now the 14 is no longer in production. You had better download the 15 with Prime 3.1 student edition.

In addition, the 14 works well with Windows XP.
